The Complete Family

Here is a picture of the whole family (minus Romeo and the fish). Here is Austen with her new sunglasses she got from nana while Luke was being born. She really enjoys all the daddy time.

All Smiles

Luke went to his first doctor's appointment today. He had gained 2 oz. and was only 5 oz. away from birth weight. However, they were concerned that he has jaundice. His levels were at 13.5 which is not too high but still higher than normal. We go back to the doctor on monday for a level check. Until then he must lay in the sunshine in the house and eat often. Both of these he loves to do as evidenced by these pictures of his sunbathing after a feeding. All Smiles.

Well since Tonya is a little weak right now I have power over the blog. I couldn't resist posting this picture of Luke's "duck butt," Tonya's affectionate name for my hair. I must say he is styling here. Yes, I'm a proud daddy. Now where's Austen, time to do her hair.

Luke Jeremiah Minor

It's a Boy!!! Luke Jeremiah Minor was born at 8:23pm on June 20, 2006. He was 7lbs 13oz and 20 3/4" long. Both baby and mom are doing great.

It's A Boy!

Or at least that's what the ultrasound nurse told us:) She seemed pretty sure about it. We are very excited and we can't wait for him (what's his name I wonder? :) to be here. Austen is also very excited about her new little brother. She knows exactly where
"the baby" is- she loves to rub mommy's belly when we ask her where the baby is.

We are now working on getting the nursery ready (de ja vu) and are trying to agree on a color. I see compromise coming:)

Look at My Spoon

Austen has decided that she wants to eat with a spoon. This all began with yogurt cups and Grammy and Pappy's. Now Austen wants to eat yogurt all by herself. Over the past two weeks she has become quite proficient at eating the yogurt. We make her sit in the floor to eat the yogurt so she does not make a mess all over the house. We know she wants yogurt when she sits in the middle of the kitchen floor saying "more please."

God is good

Our God is so good. I'm currently reading "Sheperding A Child's Heart" and I'm realizing just how much I have to learn about parenting. (Which is a lot:) God has given us such an incredible responsibility to bring these children up in the knowledge of Him. When I sit and think on it I can really get overwhelmed. But then He reminds me that I do nothing in my own strength anyways, but that "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." It's so good to know that my God "never leaves me nor forsakes me" but He's teaching me as I try to teach them. It blows my mind to realize He has a unique plan and purpose for our children to use them to bring glory to His name. Praise God He adopted us as His children.

This is the latest picture of the new baby Minor. We would love to tell you what it is going to be, however, the little one would not cooperate. We have come to the conclussion that it is shy, unlike the other Minor that fills this page.

Austen has learned to say please! After weeks of working with her she will now rub her hands together (please) in order to get what she wants:) She has also learned
"Amen" when praying, but she only does it at bedtime when her daddy tucks her in:)
We are really blessed to have her and we praise God that His plans are so much better than our own. He is already using her for HIS glory and I pray He will throughout her life.

The Newest Little Minor

I think everyone knows that we have a new little Minor on the way!
We recently found out that I'm 17 weeks along, due June 27th.
The doctor performed an ultrasound and we were able to see our baby moving all over the place.
He or she is a quick little thing! We go back in 3 weeks and find out the sex so we'll be sure to keep you posted:)
