Austen loves the water. After the first day of being petrified she slowly warmed up to it on day two and now she will go play about knee deep by herself with the waves splashing her. She now runs around the beach house asking when we can go play in the ocean. Luke is still eating sand. However, we figured out he is grabbing handfuls of sand and putting it in his mouth so he can find seashells to suck on. Today he learned that he could dig for the seashells before he put the sand in his mouth then he would not have to eat as much sand as before. Putting seashells in your mouth is not such a good idea for a 1 year old so the beach is a constant battle for us but he loves it and he laughs and splashes all while hunting for more seashells.
Quote of the day.
Yesterday, Austen wanted a snack from the pantry but could not open the door so she called out daddy three times, I was zoning her out (you parents know what I'm talking about), so she said called out really loud "DADDY MINOR" to get my attention then later that eveneing while trying to get Tonya's attention at the mall she called her "Mommy Minor." We think she picked this up because when we arebeing serious with her we call her by her full name so when she really wants our attention she uses our last name. It does have an interesting ring to it.

I so wish I was there seeing all of this. It is hard not watching them at the beach, but I'm glad you guys are having this family time. Hugs to all!

I'm so glad you are having a nice time at the beach. I guess so nice you are never coming back? I have to admit I was a little sad (maybe more jealous) that I didn't get to see you yesterday. Poor Jeremy--the first thing I said to him is 'where's Tonya?'. I miss my friend! See you soon!
I echo Bff's sentiments. I miss my friend!!!! Come home soon!!! (Secretly I think Bff is tired of me calling her 50 million times. Usually I split it between the two of you.)
As for the blog, Austen is too funny. I can't wait for Luke to talk. He'll probably just shake his head and say, 'no, no, no.'
Well, of course I miss Tonya too... she is also a BFF to me now too. I hope that you girls are able to accept that she dearly loves an older woman such as myself:) But, anyway after an evening on the lake with me on the jetski I am sure that you too are going to want me to be your BFF too. Now...about this all parents not responding to their child thing. My dear J i can not relate to what you are talking about. But, I am glad that Austen does have a way of getting her unattentive parents to respond to her, I certainly hope that when she is knee deep in the ocean that she will not have to resort to these tatics. Love you all.. Angie
